Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but DK8 Tigers was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Bailey Broncos. Tyler Colvin started the game for Bailey Broncos and recorded 12 outs.
Bailey Broncos lost despite out-hitting DK8 Tigers seven to six. Lincolm Brim, Hudson Kline, Colvin, Tyler Parsons, Nick Fiano, Charlie Tonne, and Ashton Wells each collected one hit for Bailey Broncos.
DK8 Tigers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two doubles. DK8 Tigers first got on the board when Max Matthews doubled, scoring one run.
Mariner Burgess earned the win for DK8 Tigers. He gave up five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Colvin stepped on the hill first for Bailey Broncos. They allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out six and walking three.
Landon Harvey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led DK8 Tigers with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Matthews and Harvey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for DK8 Tigers while hitting back-to-back.
The Bailey Broncos had a successful season going 11-2 and a second-place finish in the CMS Northern League Middle School standings.
